Is there a cook in the house?

Background:
My wife is an excellent cook (or chef, depending on her mood).
It's her "Triumph" in our house.

But now that we are full time empty nesters, and still working full time, purchasing groceries & preparing meals has become economically unsound.....

Enter: BlueApron.com.
This is a Great business!
In short you order how many meals you want per week and what your main course preferences are and they send you an ice pak box (once a week with ingredients for three meals x2, in our case ).
the ingredients are fresh, the recipes are very good, unusual and put together by professional chefs.
and there is always at least one meal left over, at least for us.

we like the chicken & fish recipes best, but even the ones we weren't crazy about, were not bad.

been using them for about 3 months now & no, I'm not on the payroll.
but it is nice to find a company that is spot-on! I hope they keep up the quality.

When I was in the Navy, a hundred years ago, we had packaged meals, they were called Sea Rations and they came in a can! LOL. :highly_amused: PJ

Times are much better now, trust me... But I'd still rather bring my own food than fire up an MRE

I'm betting the convenience has a price higher than I could afford.
It's not to bad really. about $10.00 a meal. we pay $60.00 a week for 6 meals (that price includes the shipping).
the real beauty is the ingredients are all measured out already.
(but you still do the prep. & cooking, unlike even the best gourmet MRE's or K's !).
So your not over loaded with any one item like you would be if you went to the grocery store and bought the ingredients for a special meal. plus we get about 3 extra meals in left overs a week.

it's as good as sliced bread
