Is the rear edge of the Bugeye bonnet sheet metal supposed to be bent inward?

I'm finally fitting the bonnet to the chassis, what a hassle. It doesn't sit quite right in several places, probably due to minor fender benders through the years tweaking the sheet metal.

I'm looking at the rear edge of the bonnet where it meets the body that the windshield sits on and it is bent inward toward the front of the car, it's not a 90 degree bend. That edge is the part that sits on the rubber piece in the channel above the firewall when the bonnet is closed. Hard to picture, but here is a straight edge sitting on top to illustrate. Is that bonnet edge supposed to be bent inward or is that something a previous owner did for some reason?

Thanks for your advice.

Mine is about like yours. Can't guarantee it was that way from the factory, but at least our cars are consistent.
