getting car ready for springit is a 76 tr7 i changed the valve cover gasket cause it was leaking.when i fired the car up in a few minutes i saw oil.yes oil seaping out the bottom of the head under the manifold.does this sound like a head gasket or could this be much worse /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Yes it could very well be blown. If you can see oil flowing out of the gasket when the motor is running then for sure. Wore case would be that the head or block is cracked. Don't drive the car. That could cause internal damage. You can get a test kit from a parts store that fits into the radiator that will detect combustion gasses in the antifreeze. Compression test will also detect it too.

Ah thats nothing to worry about at all, just typical winter seepage. Just kidding, sounds like you have a blown head gasket to me. Could be a cracked block or head, but lets think positive.

With a great deal of luck, you may find a re-torque of the head bolts will remedy the problem. When you had it running, was it smoothly or rough? Have you had a chance to determine what is wrong?
