okay, so I'm not improved.. but I am new.
I'm an ex-jeep owner looking to maintain the open top lifestyle in a ride that won't jar my kidneys or make me pay outrageous towing bills..

is that laughing I hear?

okay.. so Jeeps and old British cars have a lot in common if you count money pits and leaky engines..

I'm on here as I'm about to purchase a TR-7 and am just researching my options.

nice to meet you all and I hope that I can contribute..

I'm in South-Central Ontario - Canada by the way.

Welcome, Mikey!

The only laughing is by those of us who've been there done that. Had a CJ7 some years back - the last of the AMC Jeeps. Dropped a 304 in it and enjoyed for a number of years until it got tiresome.

Back to my "roots" with little British cars now and lovin' it. This is the place for all the fellowship and info you'll need. Good luck with the Wedge, and I'm assuming by "options" you are thinking a V8 swap... perhaps? You'll love it!

more about researching the vehicle in general and trying to figure out a fair price.
I can get a 79 convertible for $4300..
or a 79 hardtop for $1K
CDN $$

or just poke around until I find what I want.

There is a British Car Show in Oakville, ONtario on Sept. 19th so I may bring a chequebook and shop around there.

Welcome!

I'll assume you've looked in your local Kijiji. Seems to be a fair amount of Brit stuff in it from time to time.

There are plenty of Canadians here.....I used to live in Toronto until my folks dragged me south about 45 years ago.

Hi MickeyD, and welcome! :savewave:

Hiya and welcome to the BCF, MikeyD!!

So jazzed you are considering purchasing a Wedge. I am, of course, partial to Spideys!!! :cooler: Since you are lookin', if the TR7 you are looking at doesn't pan out, consider this one in Manitowoc, WI (53,000 miles on the clock $4,800) ... I'd love to see it go to a good home!

Get the owner of the $4300 car to drop his price to $4000 and then offer the other owner $700! That's what I'd do! LOL
