There was another car auctioned on BaT then up on ebay recently in a similar maroon color but with tan sides. It must have been popular to paint these cars maroon during restoration at some point in time.

Colour and interior are obviously not stock but it does look like a very good restoration. $129,000 is obviously crazy.

Only from the couple of links posted above. Apparently, it was bought on speculation; a 54% gain in four years ain't bad.

Actually, it is worse than that. Although their website is confusing, the $84K auction was in late February of this year (2016). It does mention 2012 at that link, but that isn't related to this particular auction (auction 60). So basically, the car is being flipped, which I think is what Wally was trying to point out originally.

Yes, the car was sold at auction for the $84k less than three weeks ago.

This car was interesting to say the least...extensive discussions were posted on Bring a Trailer.

Highly modified with 100S seats and fuel filler and highly modified engine.

The car was finished to an extraordinarily high, "better than new" level, and it was pretty, and probably quite fast, but I don't think it would appeal to most of us.

Each to his own I guess...
