Interior Kits from Brit-Tek?

The black interior of my '74 B-GT is getting a bit ratty - seats especially. Does anyone have experience with the interior kits sold by Brit-TeK? The kits look to be very complete, and prices seem to be reasonable. Because the PO painted the car Green Mallard, I'm thinking of changing the interior to Autumn Leaf, so a major kit might be the best way. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Harry

Harry, One problem and a major one, is if you piece meal out the upholstery, You might run into a miss match on color. I would recommend buying a complete kit. That way you know everything matches and also you have everything you need to do the job. JMHO. PJ

Thanks, Paul. Right now my choice is just do the seats, or go for the whole thing. You're right, the kit would be the way to go, if for no other reason than to have everything matching. At this point I am sure I'll never get out what I have put in (surprise, surprise!) so what's a little more? I was hoping someone had some experience with the Brit-Tek kit because it's got foams, webbing, seat covers, carpet, door panels with clips, just about everything needed - all for one price. Now all I have to do is make the decision...

Your right on that statement Harry! I love it when someone buys one of these things and hopes to make a profit, after restoring it! That's very rare. Your lucky to break even. I'm so far over budget on my TF, I don't even discuss it anymore. Thank goodness I have an understanding wife, if I didn't, I'd be sleeping in the dog house. PJ

Amen, Paul! Over the years I have lost enough to cover the cost of a top-line Corvette with enough left over for gas for several years. Closest I ever got was the Alvis we sold - got enough to cover all the restoration expenses, only lost the purchase price.

Now that's what I call a beautiful car! Beautiful restoration Harry, no doubt about it! I guess it's the same with cars and women, beauty can be expensive! :jester: PJ

Thanks Paul. It was done by Red Triangle in Coventry - took them 11 months to do all the bodywork, interior, top, dash, etc, etc. Sent it there because that's all they do - Alvis cars. You should see their catalog of parts - it is amazing for such low-volume cars. The TD21 we had was a 5-year series, total production 786 cars. Ours was body # 18661. Prince Phillip's Alvis is body # 18660. And you can get just about any part, even for the cars from the 30's. The most amazing part is that my dear wife let me do that even after I told her it would be expensive! We're coming up on 50 years married, and she still lets me play with old cars. How lucky can one get?

I purchased the entire package -carpets, panels, and seat covers. They are still in the box as I'm still repairing rust! They seem to be good quality (as I looked in the box) and a great company to work with. Hope to start putting things together soon.

Thanks, Tom. Glad to hear the parts look good - that helps. I have bought from them before with good results. Good luck with your car.
