Interior colour

I have a 76 British Racing Green TR6 with original tan interior. I wish to change the seat covers without having to change the door panels etc. Which colour avaliable in kits today is closest to the original interior colour. There is Beige, Chestnut, New Tan and Biscuit. Would biscuit be a good match?
Thanks
dave b.

There should be a trim # on your vin plate in the drivers door jamb. What ever seats you go with,I suggest getting the door panels at the same time,or they most likely wont match.

Thanks so much! I never thought of the trim codes on the door jamb. Checking the code and a google search to the TR Registry has confirmed to me a Code #74 is Beige.

Dave,

My car is Chestnut, so stay away from that if your color is lighter. I can't remember the trim code and I'm not near the car now.

"New Tan" IS an original Triumph trim color. If your trim is New Tan & you've found a supplier offering New Tan pieces at reasonable rates, you're in luck.

I've just about given up on finding New Tan seat covers for GT6 highbacks with the perforated vertical pleats.

I'd asked a similar question about colors a week ago. I have the same TR6 BRG and same interior color and was looking to buy a matching top boot and tonneau....but my seats had already been recovered to the original color. TRF sent me samples of the materials/colors for their tops. Their "bisque" as they call it (caramel tan) was a very close match to my seats and door panels. If you can wait the week or so give them a call.

And sadly, you might be out of luck unless you can locate the material and have something custom-made. Even Newton Commercial doesn't list anything except "plain pleats" for New Tan, although it is available in black. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif
