Interesting Find [New Spitfire Body]

I was out for a little drive today, and took a road I don't take much, and under a car port was what looked like a spitfire in primer. I turned and went back to look naturally. The fellow that owned it came out and in the course of our conversation I learned that it was a crated body that he had bought new from the Roadster Factory in 1993. The car is still in its original shipping crate. He told me he paid $2600 for it and picked it up himself. He had a RB MG that he told me I could have for $100 bucks and he also had a lot of TR3 parts which he said I could have for $100 bucks along with a good assortment of Spitfire parts. An interesting Character and an hour well spent.

Re: Interesting Find

Well..........

As soon as the weather cools, and the copper heads quit crawling, Im going to retrieve the MGB. I'm going to take a look at the TR3 also. If I think I can sell some parts off it I'll retrieve it also.

Why not the Spit?

yeah?

Because I haven't been able to talk him out of it. He said at one point that he might take what he gave for it but then he quickly backed away from that. It would be a coup indeed to pick up a crated Spitfire body for $3000 bucks. It goes without saying that I will be maintaining close contact with the gentleman.
