insulation to the footwell

vette said:
Hi Bob,
PS. I forgot to say that I chose not to use the insulating mats even though I believe they have excellant heat barrier qualities, but I believe they will eventually become water and moisture traps. The lizard skin is bonded to the metal like paint. Water will not penitrate it and there will be no temp differential to cause condensation.

Vett, I installed Dynamat xtream. If properly installed, it water proofs the area. It will not become a water or moisture trap. Just wanted to throw that out, if others were interested in using it or have installed it.

Just noticed when browsing the new Moss catalog that they are now selling 'aluminized ceramic fiber' heatshields. For the early 3000s, there is a 'footbox panel'--as they didn't have the shields above the mufflers--and for the MKIIs and MKIIIs they sell a 'muffler panel.' Part nos. 021-640 and 021-641, respectively. Not cheap, but look like quality products from the photos.

NFI.
