Not exactly side-splitting humor, but this struck me as funny...

A few days ago, I bought a set of speakers for one of our computers - typical name brand middle-of-the-road quality units. Naturally they came with instructions.

I would understand if the instructions covered connecting them to the computer and each other (there are three) but there was no mention of this topic. Instead, there was this.

Four pages total. One English, one Spanish, one French, one Portuguese.

Two boxes with "Safety Instructions" - don't use an extension cord because of the polarized plug and don't get the speakers wet.

14 numbered paragraphs with various warnings and admonitions. ("1. Read these instructions. 2. Keep these instructions. 3. Heed all warnings..." and so on.

Warranty information.

Company contact information.

And then, the instructions!!! These are headed "Connecting the power cord (AC wall socket).
They explain that 1) "The long slot is the neutral (ground) side" and 2) "Insert the wide blade into the ground side slot."

So - all they've told us is to plug the thing in!

The kicker is that these speakers don't even have a polarized plug.

1. Place on ground.
2. Light fuse.
3. Flee!
4. Assume the litigation position.
I was amazed one year, when I was tasked to help write the owners manual for a GM truck product, that the existing manual devoted 3 1/2 pages, (in English!) to what boiled down to the fact that gasoline was flammable. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
