Installing Seatbelts [over the shoulder type]

Has anyone installed new seatbelts, the ones with the over the shoulder strap? I installed mine the other day and bolted both of the ends to the door side and the other in the middle. (The short belt that releases) Now I did this I think that I should of place one hook up behind the seat somewhere at the back a little higher up so the belt stays over the shoulder. Hope this question makes sense. Anyone who installed belts will most likely see my problem. I hope

There should be a threaded attachment welded to the rear wheel housings to take the upper end of the shoulder strap for cars built after ~ 1970.

Thanks I will check it out. Mine is a 1970 so I hope there is one there. If not I guess I will have to drill one in.

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering by the lack of replies that no-one has come across this.
Thanks again

Yours may have had that upper attachment on the body itself - up on top by where the convertible top attaches....a chromed 'nut' over which your shoulder belt slipped.
