Installing a TR 3 Windsheild Glass

I think I saw a post on installing the glass in a Tr3 windsheild frame, but have search and can not find it. If I remember, it said that electrical tape was used around the edges of the glass to seal it and then trimmed off. Can someone help me out with this.

I'm the one who used the black electric tape but in the end, it failed the test. It still leaked. I found that I had a roll of the right rubber on a shelf in my garage and it worked perfectly. It had Moss numbers on the package.

Just a thought ... last time I had this problem I carried the frame into a local auto glass place. Once we established that they could not sell me new glass, I also brought in my glass and they installed it for me, for almost nothing. ISTR it was $5 (including the glazing) but of course that was 30 years ago, so it would be more today.

We used a heavy duty electical tape. It worked okay. The glass moves slightly. I suspect that a few days in a hot garage or in the sunlight will improve it.

It turned out to be impossible to remove the screws holding the frame together and I ended up drilling them out. Luckily the entire set (including angle brackets) was available from Moss. It's highly recommended.

I'd be more worried that a couple days' vibration from driving will crack it.
