Hello all,
Quick question - I am installing a new top on my 66 BJ8
and is it necessary to take off the rear side panels and
rear seat frame ? Appears it would be difficult to get to
the screws to remove the rail around the rear shroud but
maybe there is some easy way that I am missing. Thanks
in advance for everyone's help.
Regards,
Mike

Did that job last summer with a new stayfast top on my 64 BJ8. while it may be possible to replace the top without removing the rear interior panels and rear seat back, I think the job goes much easier with them removed, and the removal really doesn't take that long. While removing the screws from the trim rail can be acomplished with the panels in place, it is very difficult replacing the screws with the new top attached. Besides, I chose to remove my frame and powder coat it while the top was off. Removing the frame is easier too.
