Installing A CD Player?

I am trying to install a CD player in my Midget but am finding out that most will not fit because of the depth (most are 7 inches). I have seen plenty of pictures of Midgets with CD players in the center council. Currrently, the player in in the glove box. Anyone have an idea what I can do? Crutchfield was no help. Thanks

I have one im my 79 Midget. You will need a spacer to do it. FYI: You cannot get a cd in or out in 1st or 3rd gear. The gear shift lever is too close to the player.
