I installed the disc brake kit over the weekend. Was pretty easy to install. I had them press in the bearings before they shipped to me. Havent driven it yet. Doing some additional maintenance before I take off the jack stands. I added photos to my album.. cheers,

Currently, his pictures are "featured" in the bottom RH corner of each webpage (Member's Pictures).

I was like the same thing; nice, but WHERE are the pictures?!

Since I couldnt upload the photos to the thread,so I uploaded them to my album(pictures). If you select Member pictures on the left and pick Zschicago you can see the photos. The kit didnt come with dust shields. I thought maybe it should have... Zane

Hello zschicago, with regards to your lack of dust shields.

Depending on how many miles you do you may find the inner brake pads wear a lot quicker than the outer ones. It won't stop the brakes from working correctly as long as you have pad material there.

Many years ago the first set of disc brakes I fitted to my BN1 I left off the dust shields and the inner pads wore out very quickly so with a new set of pads and dust shields it cured the pad wear.

Try asking DWR if they have any dust shields for you to fit.

They won't have dust shields for any car they race because they will tell you they need all the air they can get to the rotor.

Are they Type 14 or Type 16 disc brakes ? If you look at the outer face of the caliper there should be either a 14 or 16 cast there. The 14 is the pre 1964 3000 whereas the 16 is the later BJ8 brakes.

Best Regards

bundyrum.
