Good day,
I have just recently (one week) become an owner of a 1996 XJ6, With the 6 cly 4.0 Litr motor. The car is beautiful, and runs like a dream. It already has 100k miles, but must have been very well maintained. I am one of those idots who bought it on E-bay and it came from Texas. No rust, but does have two (so far) small problems.
The clock LED is fried. Can this be reconditioned or replaced reasonably? And the wind screen washer motor does not work, I have check the fluid level, the fuse, and the wireing, no sound when you engage the switch, so not sure if switch or washer motor. Will have to direct wire (unless someone give me an easier solution) to see if the motor engages direct and it is the switch or if the switch engages and it is the motor. OH wind screen wippers work at all speeds just great. This is a fun car to drive.
Any ideas or help will be greatly apprecited, I will monitor this site, and if you want my email I will be happy to send it. Thanks in advance.

Hi Harvey,

All you need to do is take your voltage tester and check and see if voltage is present at the washer pump motor electrical conection when you ( or someone else ) triggers the switch. Have fun, sounds like a nice car.
