The inflation rate since 1958 has grown by 730.60. So it takes $730.60 to equal the purchasing power of $1 in 1958.
If an Austin Healey Sprite cost $1,795.00 in 1958, it would take $1,311,427 to buy a Sprite in today's dollars.
So I think that Sprites are selling pretty cheap right now.
So I am going to hang on to mine until it is worth at least $2,000,000. in 1958 dollars.

Danger...Danger, Will Robinson...That does not compute.

Reminds me of the old inflation example story: Guy wakes up after a 200 year coma. Races to a pay phone (yep - they still exist in parts of the world!).

Picks up handset, and hears "Please deposit $86,000 for the first three minutes".
