Indexing the Steering Wheel

I am working on a Stag, but is must be similar to other models.
I've got the rack back in and torqued down, but my steering wheel is 180 out. I don't want to go back and fight the U-joints on the lower column, or pull the rack back out.
If I just remove and reindex the steering wheel, will that have an effect on the turn signal canceling?

If it is like my TR4, you won't have any canceling ability. There is a clip on the upper column that cancels the turn signals. If you are 180 off, the clip wont be positioned correctly.

Possibly you can access the clip and reverse it which would work I think.

Here's the diagram from Rimmer Bros showing the clip (150815):

Yes, Randy
It is a spring clip, and easy to reverse. Anything other than 180 degrees, and you're out of luck.
