In the Market for a Bugeye

Gentlemen:

I've been in the forum before. I bought and restored a 61 BE, then drove it for several years, but sold it before my posting to Mexico. I'm currently posted in Afghanistan and am looking to acquire another, preferably by the time I go on R&R in January.

I know and love these vehicles. While I can 'do-it-myself,' I no longer have have the time for restoration, so I'm looking for a top-end restoration that I can essentially jump in and drive away. I'd love one with a hard top, and even love to have a Rivergate 5-speed as well. Would prefer a color other than red, and a RHD would be especially intriguing. I'm willing to consider what is available.

I know the market so, if you are interested in selling, let's try to be reasonable.

Hi Mike -

Just sent you a PM.

Both of John's BE's are well done and IMHO would be a worthy acquisition to anyone shopping for a BE.

Good luck on the Bugeye hunt. They're hard to get out of your system, that's for sure. I though I was done with them, and then wound up with another one.

RHD is hard to find here in the states (I have one) but not hard to convert if you're interested. Just need steering rack, dash, and steering column plinth, that's about it. I love RHD cars, but then I'm weird that way.

Hi Jim Gruber -

Happy Thanksgiving! Thanks for the compliment. I am just thinking about freeing up some space in the OH shop. Too many toys and projects! We are south for the winter. I brought down both the '69 Corvette and '72 Spitfire this year. Having great top down weather. See you when the snow is gone!

John,
never got the opportunity to help you exercise both of your BE's. Hopefully we can get together come Spring. Working in Mason now so close to your garage. Stay warm and Happy Turkey to you and family.
