Wedge IMSA TR8 - Spax on the rear axle

Over the winter I found the block main bearings out of round.
Today the machine shop phoned that the crank is running again.
So engine assembly is short before.

I also get some custom build dampers for the rear axle made by SPAX.

Now after a while all spares are collected (bearings, piston rings, gaskets, brake pads, dampers, clutch parts) to make the car race ready.

If all goes right the first race can come.

I sharpen the knife for the BMW M1 ProCars and hopefully can keep up with them and you don't hang me up if I'm not and getting behind.

MadMax, I love it, wish I could be there to cheer you on. The wife and I were scrutinizers, (inspectors) for Camel GT (IMSA) in the early '80 and what a wonderful group of owners. You might want to get in contact with TSI, the owner ran and sold TR's back in the day, Ted Shumaker, he may have a trick or too for you.

So you were close to the action back in the days when the TR8 was young.
I already have contact with Ted but you've just remembered me to tell him about the new stuff of the car.

I stay in remote contact with Tullius, he also has a trick or two in his pocket.

Cheers

MadMarx, That is just wonderful. We met Mr. Tullius at Charlotte Motor Speedway, in fact he torn the front off the Jag and we have a front corner hanging in the garage, signed and dated. Now Ted may remember us, he was in the TR6. You might ask him if he remembers the English girl with the guy that had the roadster, as we had driven it down that time. How did I remember that? Oh, he had the last 2 TR8's in the US for sale and wanted $10K, we were so temped, but the boy started college the next year and that was a priority at the time.
Look forward to hearing of your exploits, have fun.
Just remember, Ted had the first Datsun 280Z rear end conversion on a 6 that I had seen.
