Importance of tight dashboard fastenings

I noticed I was getting a lot of squeaking/rattling from the dash when driving over uneven roads. Turned out to be the nuts that hold the dashboard top to the actual dash (fascia). There are two on each side on the TR6, two can be reached through the glovebox, the other two require removing the speedo and tach. Also, check the bolts up at the front by the windshield. Made a world of difference for me- they need to be tight to stiffen everything up. I had already checked all the other dash support and dash bolts- of course those need to be tight too. Just thought it might help someone else to put it on record. Pete

It's amazing what can come loose in 30-40 years. Sigh....they just don't make em' like they used do, do they?
