I'm planning on going on Saturday. Anyone need a part? I'll keep my eyes open for it.

I am only familiar with sidecurtain TRs.

John,
I'm looking for either one (or both) of the tube spanners that come
in the Sidescreen Triumph tool kit. I don't care about the tommy bar.
Don't pay more than $5-$8 apiece for them. Roadster Factory has them , but by the time you include shipping, they're no bargain for something you're never going to use!
Thanks for the offer!!

I am in need of two wedge sidecurtains. I have 2 dzus type already. I will be sticking to wedge type as my car might be the last made surviving wedge type TR3a. If you find wedges or the the curtains I would be interested.

Regards
Paul

The Army always seems to know when the cool stuff is happening. Carlise... Army week end... Roadster Factory show... Army trip....

If by chance you see some old style threshold plates for a TR3 I'd love a set. I think Amco might have made them, ridged aluminum. Any old pieces like the old Cal Sales valve cover would be good - of course I bet they'd be pricey, but I'd like a report if you see any because I've never been to Carlisle and don't know how much stuff shows up there.

Thanks
Randy

John, et al : I'm going early on Friday. I'll try not to buy anything that you want! Seriously, I'm really just looking. Now that I'm kinda retired, I can't afford to waste any money. (unless I find a fitted suitcase for the 3A and under $100) :jester:

So can you still find sidecurtains at import Carlisle and other British car shows? Those and the jack are the only parts that were missing when I bought my car.

Paul, when you say wedges do you mean the wedge part of the sidecurtain frame or the sockets that go on the doors into which they fit?

I have three of the four sockets and I don't need them. They need chromed, though.

John
I have the sockets. Thanks. I just got an pm about some wedge curtains from a member that needs some dzus type curtains and has some wedge sidecurtains. Might be able to trade. I understand that you can just get the wedge plate (Moss about $30 each) and then attach them to a bracket. You still would have to fiddle with the set-up to get it to fit your particular car. This forum is great.

Paul

I'm going today, pray it doen't rain.

Interesting tidbit, I know for a fact, that it has rained on this at some point on this weekend, for at least 8 of the last 10 years. I can't tell you how much mud I have slogged through on this weekend.

Weather on Friday was perfect. This show is now a far cry from the past. I am sure the economy is the main reason. In years past there was no way to get lost as the queue formed at the PA Turnpike exit. This year I had to ask for directions.

Very nice pictures! Thanks!

Frank-

That TR4 looked in pretty decent shape - did you catch the asking price for it?

Randy

Randy: No. But, I tried to find out. Maybe John (2 sheds) checked it out. I waited for the owner to return from lunch and he never did. I had to leave by 2 PM. Frankly the interior was almost completely trashed, but the body panels were all straight.

Sorry, guys. I didn't get to Carlisle to look for your parts.

Left at about 9:00 a.m. in Dale, the old red Chevy truck with a friend. Had to jump-start Dale. Took Dale instead of a car in order to pick up an engine from Wirewheel for my friend.

On I-81 North, the battery light began to glow. The voltage dropped lower and lower so we exited and went north on Rt. 11, looking for an AutoZone or something. I figgered a new battery would get us there even if the alternator was toast. Dale quit in front of a Honda dealer. After a new overpriced alternator AND battery from the dealer, paid for by my friend, we continued up I-81 until Dale quit again. Felt like he just ran out of gas even though the gauge read half full.

Dale shook as the semis raced by two feet from him. Long story short; Good Samaritan, gas can, roll-back ride home, bottom line Hayes Harris still has the engine and is probably back in Vero Beach by now.

Hayes offered to load the engine into Dale on the shoulder of I-81. Considered it for a while. Thought better of it.

Frank, did you get info on that Bugeye? I was supposed to look for a Bugeye, too.

The flea market on saturday, frankly, was terrible. Nothing there, really. But the show field was pretty good, despite the cloudy weather and the threat of rain. Got to meet a bunch of the guys from Nass, and Ted Schumaker of TSImports. Those things are what made the day for me.

Carlsile got in bed with the devil a few years ago when they teamed with ebay. and all the vendors discovered the year round flea market, and no one wanted to come stand in the mud any more.
