I'm told there were other swimmers in the pool

Evidently, Bill Murray has a hilarious "tweet" out there that there should be one "regular" guy in the pool as a reference.
I could be that person. "RGRO" (regular guy, reference Olympian)... maybe even a prize for last. At the very least, I could be sponsored by Waster Management, Lays Potato Chips or Bedmart (etc.). :playful:

Our swimmers are very impressive at this Olympics. Phelps, needless to say, is the best all around swimmer we've ever had, but saying that, I think it's time for him to retire and go into coaching and teaching his skills to the newcomers of the sport. He's proven himself many times over. Ledecky, what else can be said! World class, as are some of our other swimmers.
There should be a medal for just qualifying for the Olympics, it's an achievement that most will never realize, I admire all of our competitors in the various sports, whether they win or loose. Great kids all! :encouragement: PJ

Probably the parents should be given a medal for the years of effort and money spent backing their kids in their desires.

Good for Ledecky, she's a class act. Many memorable performances from several countries. US and Canada duke it out in a few times. Obscure losers win, bikes crash, Ethiopian 10,000 meter women's gold winner so popular at home they televised her wedding, US B Ball players so rich they get a friggin cruise ship. I'm surprised it's gone so well, no huge disasters. Guess they were better organized than expected.

I am not sure if Phelps can teach other swimmers how to grow longer arms.
On another note my 10 year old grandson is a gymnist and says he wants to be in the 2024 0lympics when he is 18.
I am hoping the games are in Los Angeles that year and I only have to drive about 120 miles to watch him fulfill his dream.
I will be 82 years old when it happens.
