I reveneered my dash during the resto of my TR6.
Here are some important things I learned:
1. Use only Pre-Catalyzed resin to adhere the veneer. Any other glue such as contact or PVA glues will delaminate over time.
2. You must use "pressure" during the glue curing process. I constructed a jig (see photo). Once veneer was in place, I tightened all of the bolts sandwhiching the dash between two pieces of plywood.
3. Use marine grade polyurethane. Let it dry for DAYS between coats and lightly sanding with steelwool or fine sandpaper between coats. It is very important to blow off any dust or steelwool fibers before applying the next coat.
4. The last step was to use Rottenstone which is a very fine abrasive to really polish it up to a mirror finish.
