I'm not sure what to think....

Ok, so I've been running with my HS6 for nearly two months now, I think.

So, here are the symptoms I have and don't know what to make of them:

This morning, I drive in to work. All's fine. I pull into my parking space and let the engine idle for about 20 seconds before shutting it off. When I shut the engine of, it began to diesel in reverse for maybe half a revolution.

This afternoon, I drive to the store on my way home. I park and again let the engine idle for about 20 seconds before shutting it off. THIS time I get a nice ~bang~ out the exhaust, but _no_ dieseling.

These things usually happen at least once a week, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason to which or when they occur.

I haven't checked my valve lash yet this year. Could that cause these seemingly random symptoms?

I have a Crane XR700 iggy w/ optical pickup. Can slop in the dizzy shaft trigger some of this?

Like the topic says, I'm not sure what to think.

Hmmm if you could get it to smoke like its going out of style you could be the mini uncle buck. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

I'd start with the valve lash then check the timing.

If you do think it's ignition related I'll be home in a week or so and your more than welcome to try my spare dizzy.

With switch off the iggy shouldn't be a factor, but it IS a second cousin to a computer. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif
Ethanol, old or low octane fuel may be a possibility.

I always fill up with 92 Octane at my local gas station. Same gas station all the time.

hmmm... Ethanol... great... yet another reason to dislike the stuff...

I reckon that means I might have to go a couple more flats richer, eh?

Plug check. Aim for Sudbury/Cadbury chocolate colour.

roger that!
