Hi Guys,
Just a quick hello. My name is Dalton from The Gold Coast, Australia. I'm a bit of an MG nut. Started with my first '72 BGT when I was 21 (I'm now 55). As a result of a mid-like crisis (it's a great excuse for anything), I now own a '64, '66, '68, 2 x '69's, and a '72 B. Then I came across a '53 TD, loved it, bought it, and it is currently being restored. You can check out the '72 B (with Panasport wheels) and the '53 TD on my web site:
By the way, I'm trying to track down the history on the TD. So if anyone has any details that they can pass on, it would be much appreciated.

Best Regards,

Dalton

Hi Dalton,

Welcome to the BCF.

It appears that you are trying to sell all the cars as opposed to keeping them for your personal pleasure. I may be wrong but ???

Anyways; If you post the VIN # & some pics in the "MG Forum"; You just may get some History.

Welcome aboard Dalton. As Russ stated, it appears you may be a dealer of cars (i.e. a business?) If so, you will need to become a supporting vendor in order to advertise your business here.

Cheers,
Basil

Hi Guys,
No, I'm not a dealer. The website started out as an experiment when I was a business Development Manager with a company and needed to know how to market products on the net. I liked classic cars, so I built a test website based on my interest and soon discovered that the website was getting "Hits" by pure accident, and so my wesite started..................it was never meant to be real, but I had to learn to use particular software and learn the "art of Google". All self taught, so it was a good exercise for me and good for the small business I worked with. Building and promoting this site taught me a lot and I managed to increase the company's sales by 100% that year..........that is, the company I officially worked for. Once again, my webiste was a learning exercise for me

In terms of the cars for sale or the badges, I've owned the '72 for 7 years now and am selling it to pay for the restoration of my '53 TD (not my choice, but that's the deal I have with my wife. I'm sure you all understand). I do, however, trade in badges. That's also my way of funding my expensive hobby and keeping my cars on the road (wife deal again).

Running the website as a business allows me to buy all my restoration needs and spares at dealer / wholesale prices because of the quantitys I need to buy. But I am not a dealer.

The cars are also advertised free of any charges. It's a marketing tool that draws traffic to my site. If I know the advertiser, like the owner of the Eureka or Spitfire (my brother's cars) or the 300ZX (my Son's car), I'll take the initial calls. All other advertised cars are referred to the seller.

In terms of the information I need for my TD, The car was built on the 11th June 1953; it's a TD2; Chassis no: TD28439; engine no: XPAG 28921. I bought the car 5 years ago from a guy by the name of David Taylor in Queensland, who bought it from someone in Sydney (Australia). David is, for all intents and purposes, no longer with us, so I am left trying to trace the history of the car. It's possible the car has a racing history in Australia, but I'm unable to confirm it. If anyone knows of the car, I'd sincerely appreciate any information that can shed some light on the vehicle. The restoration is progressing well, albeit an expensive process, hence the sale of my much loved '72 MGB with those rare Panasport wheels.

Regards,

Dalton
