I'm getting Dizzy

Actually along with all the other upgrades I’m doing I’ve opted for a new distributor too.

My choice was to go with the Mallory duel point dizzy. But I’m going to upgrade the points setup with a Petronix Ignitor. Problem is the Mallory needs to have a pin hole drilled to accept the pin for the drive gear at the bottom of the dizzy’s shaft.

So the problem is how do I get the drive gear off of the old dizzy? I tried to press the pin out but it won’t budge – anybody got any ideas on how to remove the pin?

Once it’s out I’m going to take it to a local machine shop to have the new pin hold drilled. But I guess I could just have the shop pull the pin too.

Thoughts?

Why not just buy a Pertronix distributor that already has everything done for you?

I purchased it for my '74 and should be installing it any day now.

Remember Tony when I bought this from you a year & a half ago with the EFI kit - the duel points Mallory & Pertronix was the only option at the time. Pertronix didn't have a dizzy avalible then.

I done this many times, knock out the pin on your use dizzy whith a small drift, then you reinstall on your new unit, and drill for the pin.
