Last week,the Cortina MKII wagon packed in the engine rear main seal.
Now it's in the driveway,awaiting new parts/repairs.
So today I take the '67 MGB GT down to Fortuna (About 20 miles South of here),
to the biggest local car show.Car dies at the first stop sign.I noticed an empty parking
spot at the Chevron station there,&,with help,park it there.
I went in & let one of the clerks know what had happened,& that I would retrieve the
car later(I knew that it was that the head gasket was blown),& was told that it was all-
right to leave it there.
Got a ride from a Friend in a '69 Z28 Camaro,got the truck/trailer,& hauled it home,
to where it now sits.This leaves the '74-1/2 TR6,that I've taken a deposit on to sell.
I'm afraid to drive the TR,as I don't need to break another car.What to do?,what to do?-

Sounds like my luck with my health!

Of course, "the more toys you have, the more repairs you have". Decide what you really want to fix next, then get to work.

And you're lucky to have friends to help you!

Yeah, don't drive the TR but I never take a deposit on anything unless it's understood full $$$ in 5 days or the deposit is mine. Fix the easiest first.
 
I'm still frustrated - I had the Cortina entered in that car show,
but withdrew it after I knew that I couldn't get it back together in time.
Getting the parts together,& hope to have it running by the first part of
August.The MG's still in the garage,awaiting disassembly.
There's a car run to Lassen park on August 4th,which I had planned
on attending,but still debating wether to attempt it.
I was also on attending the California Melee,in early September,with
the Cortina,but was informed that they "don't accept station wagons".
Is this discrimination?Do I need to get a lawyer?(No - not THAT lawyer).

Reminds me of a local art gallery. Had a big show for area sculptors. One artist demanded she be allowed to enter - even though she only works in watercolor paintings. Said she show was discriminating against her.

I should have brought an old gearbox and said it was "sculpture representing the cosmic transience of man's shifting place in the universe".

Nah ...

No you don't need a lawyer, just call the Cortina a "Shooting Brake".

sadly it is more of a shotting break - and he might just shoot it!
