MGB-GT I'm Bummed - Transmission Mount

FINALLY got back to getting the GT back together.I got the
speedometer drive & the cable hooked up,but couldn't get the
rear transmission mount bolts to start.
I had the whole assembly ready to go in.Decided to pull it
apart,& do it one piece at a time. After a few tries,I checked the
new rubber mounts & found out that the mounting holes don't
line up,so it looks like they'll have to be drilled out.
How can they sell stuff like this?

The flat part goes to the rear.Turn out that I had
the piece that attaches to the transmission on backwards.
Getting those bolts started took forever, but finally
got it re-installed.

Well done! Always fun when parts can seem to go in a number of ways, only one of which is correct.

I struggled to get that mount put together, could not get the rubber pieces to go where they should. Solved the problem bu sending the whole car to the shop to have them deal with it...

That mount on the four synchro boxes is even more diabolical.

Try fitting it all up with the tail of the box down as far as it will go. Them raise the whole assembly up into position and fit the bolts to the crossmember.

This method has been the easiest way. Just keep in mind there's a firewall up there at the top of the engine.

The only thing that will line up are the four holes that are there to mount it to the chassis. Trans cradles and anti-dive stabilizers mount differently.
