I'm bored too and tired of tires

So on this foggy morning, I browsed this forum for information and recommendations for TR6 tires, then put it in WIKI.

Check this link

If you want to add to it have a go, or just put your preferences, pictures, and other stuff here, and I will do it on the next foggy day

Nothing about Kumho. My limited research on Kumho has found them ranked well in about all classes of tires that I've looked into and at a reasonable price.
The Kumho's I run on my TR6 have been a very satisfactory tire in wet and dry. Handling has been very good, though I probably wouldn't use it for auto x. I buy from the Tire Rack for under $50.00 each. I get about 20,000 miles from a set.
This is the first tire that I have comfortably driven a TR6 during a gully washer and felt very comfortable.

Nice info on the Wiki (I've never owned a TR6, but I'll pass it on to others who do).

Yes, I've used the Kumho Ecsta V710 or the Kumho Victoracer in the past for my club racer. Great tires, but unfortunately, they no longer make a tire in my size (185/60-13). Based on my experience with the race tires, I'd guess the regular Kumho street tires would be fine.
I have also used the Yokohama A032R (soft); another good tire, but they are also out of production.

These tires are "DOT" race tires and cost about $115 each. I usually have them shaved and heat-cycled which is another $25 or so (each). I get about 500 race miles per tire, so not really practical for street use.

In two weeks I'll be trying out Toyo RA1s....another soft, sticky "DOT" race tire for the first time (at the BeaveRun track). These are the "spec" tire in the SpecMiata class. Luckily, they make a 13" race tire that fits my car (for now, at least)

For my street commuter (Miata) I have Yokohama ES100s. Very nice and grippy, but they are a "summer" tire only. I use Conti Winter Contact (similar to Blizzaks) in the cold months.

For some of our Brit street classics, the tall, skinny tires look better, I think. Vredstein makes a number of taller, narrow sizes that give more of a classic "look".

Avon and Dunlop are the "true Brit" tires, so I guess they are the most suitable.

If you are on more of a budget, ~NANKANG TIRES~ make some thinner 15" tires that would be great for some Brit classics ($35 for the 165-15 size)

Still foggy outside.
Thanks for the feed back. I guess I should have expanded on what I was looking for. Not being an expert in tires, I sought to glean from this forum member experience with various tires, sizes, and rims for the TR-6.

So if you have a preferred, or even hated tire, and at least the tire size with opinion, I will add it. And better yet if you have a photo of them on your ride, now that's a topper.

I will even do the TR-4,3,and 2's if enough feedback is provided.

Other items can be put in your comments, like springs, tire pressure, what ever you want.

Hi,

Since you asked...

When I bought my car it had the Michellin radial X redlines on them. I have no idea of how old they were. They were bad in the dry and squealed like crazy on even the gentlest of turns. Forget about driving in the wet with these. Not recommended!

Tires are one of the biggest factors in safety, so choose carefully, see what others have used, and what results they have had, looks are secondary.

This is just my opinion, so no flame war please.

This is non-flame forum. It is not appreciated, tolerated or promoted in any manner.

I doubt that you have to worry much. We act as gentlemen and ladies should and respect one another's opinions.

Be careful where ya park it. I've been eyeballing those wires of yours.

BTW,if the forecast doesn't get any better, I may not be in CT on Sunday. I'm still doing my sun dance, but it's not working too well at this time.
