I'm Back From My Brief Hospital Stay

I went into to the hosital for a leg infection (cellulitis). They had to pump me full of antibiotics for a couple of days. I went to the ER of the hospital where my daughter's a nurse practitioner and her husband is a physcian's assitant. Boy did that smooth the way. They called ahead of time and I was being taken care of within five minutes of my arrival. I was treated like royalty in that hospital.

I'm 62 and not one much for doctors, and I don't take any medications. All of the doctors thought that was rather bizarre. There must be some problems in there. So, my daughter ordered all kinds of blood and urine tests and even an EKG while I was a captive with no place to run. Well, she reported back to me...EVERYTHING was normal, including the cholesterol test. That she couldn't understand because I don't eat what you'd call a low chloesterol diet...as in where's the steak and fries. I told her it was the beer that washed that bad stuff away. :eeek: BTW, low cholesterol runs in my family.

She did nail me on slightly high blood pressure (130-140/70-80), so I gave in and will take some pills for that.

Well, the infection is gone, although I'll have to take some pill type antibiotics for awhile. In a way, I'm almost glad this happened, as it set my daughter's and wife's minds at ease that there is no pending doom. I made a deal with her to do some of the other tests she wants. I should be back in the garage in a day or two finishing up the TR3 and catching up on all the stuff going on in the forum. :yesnod:

It's great to be back...I hate hospitals.

Start a "walking briskly" program on a daily basis and GET OFF the B.P. pills ASAP.

Glad everything's working out!!

Glad you're OK. I have to agree with the Doc here. Low cholesterol (good and bad) runs in our family too. My doc busted me with the slightly high BP, I cut back some on the high fat foods and do 2-3 karate classes a week. I dropped ten pounds and will be leaving the BP pills behind. Plus, I feel better!
