Finally got released yesterday on the 11th day. Still have chest drain tubes because lung is still leaking a little air. The original fluid apparently caused the lining to wrap around the lung and try to crush it causing some damage and the leak. It will just take more time to heal. I think that last part is what they mean by "too old for surgery." Thanks to all of you for your best wishes that I finally get to see now.

We're happy to have you back Bayless. I'm happy the surgery was a success, hopefully you'll have those drain tubes out before too long.
 
Take it easy, heal 100% and be ready for family and friends with the soon to arrive holiday season. Sounds like you should have more strength and energy for it.

Thanks again guys. I saw the doctor this morning and he thinks I may get the tubes removed Thursday. I did get to go by the shop today and visit my projects, Onslo and Daisy, a little. That's the Sprite and Prefect, of course. The guys are working on the fire truck today.
 
Totally sympathize. Had the tubes in for a couple weeks after a lung procedure almost exactly a year ago.

Take whatever time the physicians dictate to heal. Too easy to do something that complicates things!
