I'm actually laughing even with a blown head gaske

Those sounds like pretty good labor prices to me on the head.

If you have the room/finance/time/significant other patience grab the TR4. You'll love it. Very different car to drive than the Spitfire.

Head is done, seals were good, so $125 was it. Less than 24 hour turn on it, too. I will surely make sure this guy gets all my business from now on.

As for the TR4, storage is no problem for the forseeable future, finances are doable, and my wife will tolerate it. I've had 4's, 4a IRS, 4a live, and loved them all. I'm just hoping to get this one because it's a good buy, and even if I just clean it and work on it slowly, it's a good one to have. I say buy now because like kids, you're never truly ready...

Yep, and like kids, one Triumph often leads to another. Pictures of the new baby when you get a chance will be appreciated!
