The results are in. Fuel pump and carb fine. 1st, the point gap was way off. 2nd fuel pump partially clogged. 3rd, timing way off. All 3 problems fixed. Ran her up to 65mph and shifted at 4500-5000rpm without problem. Thanks to all. I have learned a few lessons.

I'm shocked myself but my wife had me throw away my clothes afterwards. She doesnt like the smell of 89 octane aftershave. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Go figure! You guys will find me at "Cruisin the Gut" in downtown Lansing on Saturday starting at 4pm. If you're in the neighborhood, drop in.
