If the Beatles covered Zep songs

You truley have not expierienced life unless you have heard Dread Zepplin ( Elvis impersonator doing Led Zepllin). Puts the Beatnicks to shame.

TURN IT UP AND ENJOY !!!!!!!!!!!!!

The problem is, and I do really like Led Zeppelin, is that their music had a certain sound and feeling to it. It doesn't translate well into someone or some group covering it. On the other hand, most of all the Beatles music when covered, comes out sounding great as long as the person, group, or even orchestra is good. The difference is, Led has a great sound, but the Beatles just wrote great music.

I love me some Zeppelin, but it's very difficult to cover most of it, especially without a female singer (that dude had some range!). My duo does quite a few Beatles songs, they just seem to translate nicely to lots of different formats.

Couldn't make it through the Dread Zeppelin -- to painful! The Beatnix one was interesting. A bit odd, but well done.

On the same page there was a clip from an 83 reunion of the Yardbirds doing Stairway to Heaven. Now I like that version.

I was with friends at the local Irish pub in Frederick Md. and they had an Irish gent on guitar doing the usual Irish ballads, old Beatles covers and such. We would call out requests and he would ablidge. My freind sitting next to me wagered me that he could get him to play the theme song to Gillagan's Island to the tune of Stairway to Heaven. Of course I took the bet. He called out the request and I lost the bet. Turns out the performer does it quite often and had it down perfectly. It was the funniest thing I've ever heard. Wish I had a video of it.
