Idle Speed Drops After Fuel Filter Element Change

Greetings to all!

I've been tied up with college lately, so I've been quiet.
But, the other day I had a problem with fuel delivery: the element in the fuel filter appeared to be the culprit.
I changed the element and now the car, a '74 GT is running smoothly on the road.
However, once I changed the element, my idle speed dropped from around 650 to 500 rpms. Before I adjust the idle speed, I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen? The only things I did were: change the element and tighten the overflow(?) hose on the front carb since it was a little wet at the connection.
And that's it. I did nothing else.

May have been idling lean as a result of the partially restricted filter? That'd result in a slightly higher idle, albiet a bit 'funky' as well.
