Identify aftermarket parts...

My wife's '79 B Roadster had already been modified when we purchased the car. I need to identify some stuff and you all are the experts. Pics are of the

Fuel pump: (Factory or aftermarket?)

Carb: (Which SU's are these?)

and Distributor: (Is this OEM and why would the vacuum hookup be capped?)

Thank you (AGAIN) in advance.......

The carb is a HIF-4 SU. They were used from '72-'74.5. Distributor is probably a 45D (?) and should be ported from the manifold. Not sure about the fuel pump because I've never owned a RB MGB.

That looks like an SU pump but it isn't mounted like my '72. Is that mounted inside the car or what. The cap looks like the solid state fuel pump on page 29 in the Moss catalog.
The mounting bracket shown on page 29 is like mine and it says it was through 74 1/2 and the rubber bumper pump mounting bracket is not available.
Also item 40 looking at the negative ground on that page is the same as I have and it says that was from about '68 on so yours should be the same. So maybe someone with a '79 can shed some more light on it.

The fuel pump is mounted in the forward wall of the boot (trunk).

The timing was set at about 25 degrees and did not move more than 5 degrees as RPM increased. I reset the idle timing to 17 degrees and will hook up a vacuum line tomorrow to see if I get some advance with RPM.

Thanks for the input!

no it should still use vacum advance. It probably has a bad diaphram and was capped because some PO didn't want to buy a new one
