Wedge Ideas for removing paint from TR8 bumper?

The second owner of my TR8 painted the front plastic bumper black. Of course, over time it has chipped and flexed off and looks horrible.

Any ideas for how to remove the paint without hurting/discoloring the plastic?

Thanks.

How about one of those new paint removers that is water soluble and won't harm specialty woods? I used a version made by 3-M Non Caustic Safety Stripper #10103 to remove 4 layers of paint from a desk and I couldn't believe how well it worked without stinking up the house or making the wood like silly putty. That was two years ago and the product is probably much improved since then.

Good Luck,

Did you get that 3-M stuff at a Home Depot/Lowes type place?

My TR8 had the bumpers painted black and a clear coat applied by a previous owner, looked good but not original.
The finish was still good so I wet sanded them with 400 grit and sprayed them with rubber bumper finish. They now look brand new with a nice black satin finish, I bought the special paint at a body shop supply store. I took the bumper cover off of the rear to do the job but left the front one on and just masked it all off, all in all a nice afternoons work and worth the effort.
To get a nice look after washing apply Meguiars black trim dressing which is a white cream in a red plastic bottle.

Yes I did, in Home Depot's paint department. I had the stuff all over my hands and never had a problem with burning or rashes. Just warm soapy water and all residue is gone.
