Carbs came. I can also report that the throttle bushings have no play at all, none. Now we know what the standard is or I do in any case, no play when wiggled at all.

Instalation will progress shortly.

Yep, that was the problem. Now idles at 900 even with both mix set at 9 flats for a start. Started right up of course and settled down quickly.

Went down the street to the gate house and back, no prob at all. New unworn transmission needs to be run some, tis a bit stiff yet. Brakes just fine. Need to tighten the fan belt I note.

Now to touch up the timeing and adjust the mixture and balance and such.

Boy, that took awile, runs great, quiet engine, I snuck out with out wife even knowing I was gone and back.

It's all down hill now I hope. A few more bits and seats and she gets registered.

That's what we like to hear.

And now I know that Tunebug needs carb work, since I can wiggle those shafts just a bit myself.

Great news! And I think we all learned something about carbs. Hopefully this will save us some time and effort in the future.

Way north, no rain here yet even. But been overcast most of the day.

I just saw that name Ft, rucker on tv and thought about it. That was the place that everyone had to evac to from Tyndall afb if there was a hurricane coming. Everyone except me, that is, because I had to stay behind and keep the weather equipment going, that was my job.
