Not sure about th' horn but I ~know~ the back end is disproportionately large... and I'm bein' kind.

I thought you were the Emperor basil, not the king - hehehehehehehehe.

Just definitly the Lord of our domain!! By the way, do any of you happen to have any LBC body kits lying around?? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

I give up. What is a body kit? Like a Devin or Jamaican?

No, more like spoilers, both front and rear, and other screw-on plastic do-dads that the ricer crowd find so irresistible. Look great on TRs and MGBs! (Vomits quietly into bucket).

Then thank you Basil for deleting the URL. I would have clicked on it just to find out what a body kit is!

Well, maybe a Devin for an LBC,...Yeah, I forgot they did have a Jamaican that was for an MG or something too, didn't they? Those are the only one I can think of though!!

He's probably looking for something to disguise his Toyota P/U!!

A Body-Kitted out Mini:

Doesn't do anything for me... not unless it has the fuzzy dice.

Here's a vintage racing Jamaican at Summit Point. I don't know what frame it is on. I thought it was TR3, but that might be wishful thinking! MG?

Oops, maybe I should have made this a Mystery Car?

You know, that was a good-looking body!!! Held up well compared to some of todays "modern" designs!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I bet the designers of the Datsun 240Z took a good look at the Jamaican too (or could it have been the other way around?).

I bet the designers of the Datsun 240Z took a good look at the Jamaican too (or could it have been the other way around?).

Al Goertz (who just died, BTW) designed the 240Z after the Jamaican was released, but I believe that he based his design on bits and pieces from other existing models, not the Jamaican.

The Jamaican was supposed to be loosely based on the then new Lamborghini Miura.

I think that the body design has held up better than almost any other kit body I can think of, but then I am prejudiced. Were I to criticise it, I'd say that the headlight cut-outs were too large, but everything else works pretty well. They used a Stingray windshield laid back a bit and a Porsche 911 rear window.

I am taking my Jamaican in for smog testing today prior to getting it painted - I don't much like the gold.

That's a nice looking car, what color are you switching to? I definitly see the Miura influence, it just struck me that in the picture of the orange race car above that especially the roofline, but in general the whole silhouette was quite reminiscent of the 240Z!

Maybe that's because of the body kit on the race car. Hey, this thread just lapped itself!
