OMG that's a beautiful 4A. Not to mention where it's sitting. I'd like to know more about it. Black on Black? IRS? What have you done to it? When acquired? What kind of paint is that?

I have a Black on Black solid axle. There's a lot I could say about it. I don't yearn for these sorts of things, but it turns so many heads, and attracts so many remarks and comments, that I actually feel a bit ashamed to be out in it. I feel like a kid out cruising on Saturday nights. Some of the comments are from the younger folks around town and near the University. I always change the facts a bit when I report the source of the most recent compliments. Invariably, I'll say some old man leaned out or pulled up and said this or that.

My favorite, though, was one early morning when a guy in a ponytail pulled up, rolled down his truck window and just said, "Thank you. I needed to see something like that. Thank you."

I like it too.
Yesterday I stopped by the post office in my TR3 after hours. Some lady older than me pulled into the lot as I was about to leave. She said "that's a beautiful TR3... my father had one... us kids loved riding in it... have a nice day".

Wow - what a great view. Black TR on a tree lined road.

What's the location?

Thats my driveway. Ok, maybe not, it's Brucemore, a historic home a few blocks from home, I cut through all the time. At the various events we can usually be found lounging by the pool.

Appreciate the comments, the TR has been mine for about 10 years, hadn't run for 15 years previous but was still owned by the original owner. All black IRS. I've been thru most of it mechanically however the engine remains as it was except for having the head off, which finally solved an overheating problem. Installed an A Type OD which had me second guessing the wisdom of doing it myself until I drove with it. Goodparts rear hubs were the biggest surprise expense. Seat covers and a top are all I've done cosmetically. Paint has cracks and chips but good enough for me, it's a driver. Not up to the standards of most of the cars here but it's mine, I love it and it's taking me to breakfast, the long way.

Love the sentiment-I consider selung my TR250 from time to time (to start fresh on another car adventure) but then I go drive it and those crazy thoughts all disappear.
