since i will be on here quite a bit asking A LOT of questions... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
My name is Tim Hawkins. I am 35, married and have a new 8 week old baby boy. I like long walks on the beach and candle light dinners....OOPS! soory, wrong forum... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif I recently purchased a 1956 BN2 already torn down. It has some (slight?) front driver side frame damage but is about 95% complete. it needs the usual rust repairs, blah blah blah.

Im getting into restoring this after spending the last 5 years working and building on my import car. Its time to shift gears, and do something a bit more serious and respectable... I taught myself everything on my last car and intend to do the same on my BN2. Im very glad to be a part of the Healey movement! They are just to darn sexy!

So hello! ANd just out of curiosity, might i be the youngest enthusiest here by chance? My wife wants to know...

okay, so thank you gentlemen for all your knowledge and be looking for my questions, i shall have a lot i think. I will be doing all the required reading from all the good healey books once i get them for Christmas, so i'll try to keep the Q's to a minimum till then.

Thanks
tim

Welcome to the forum, you'll get plenty of help from these guys. Well you're younger than me!! - actually its great that someone of your age likes these cars as they are from a different era. But without new blood they wont have a future.

BTW Full marks to the efforts of the Future 50 section of the AHCOA in this regard

HI Timbn2, Welcome to the forum.OH my gosh no /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonod.gif, you are not the youngest guy on the forum,We have a guy KEOKE who is only 13 and has owned a Healey for at least 15 yrs--Keoke--- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your project...lots of really smart folks here brimming with useful information (not me)...better pick their brains before they get wise and start charging. BTW, in order to gain full membership to the club, you really need to have been alive before the last Healey rolled off the assembly line...and it doesn't appear...

Hello Tim, and a very warm welcome to the forum. Congratulations on your new baby and your new car! Just remember to heap attention on them both in equal measure... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

And no, you're not the youngest here by a long shot... we have at least one teenager and quite a lot of folks under 30... sadly, I'm no longer in either category. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cryin.gif

Hello Tim, and welcome!
Nice intro, liked the walk on the beach part. Good to have a sense of humor. It will come in handy when you've got your arm wedged somewhere in the Healey, trying to break loose a nut or screw. Just remember at those times, Disneyland can't touch this...this is the happiest place on earth! Just me and my Healey. Honey, can you come here, I...insert here, need another hand, dropped the screw, bolt, wrench, etc.

Seriously, this is a great forum. It's amazing to me, that no matter what question is asked here, someone will answer it immediately. Then someone else will add something, then it seems to take on a life of it's own. Really cool stuff.

Hello Tim. Great to have you on the forum.
You are not the youngest, but close. I just turned 30, my daughter will be 4 months on the 10th, and I too have a 56 BN2 that I just completed. I did a frame-off restoration and now drive the heck out of the car. Yes, people our age can afford these cars, if we have the patience to do the restoration ourselves!
I would be more than happy to lend you any advice needed, since it is fresh information. I also have a lot of extra parts left over from my restoration. The previous owner bought quite a few things twice! Unfortunately, all the parts are in my garage attic in New Orleans.

No damage to my property, but due to the newborn, we will not be living there until January.
Where are you located?

Congrats on the baby, both of them. My daughter has already spent a few afternoons in the garage with me, when her mother needs to take a nap or run some errands! Yep, she started young!
Take care.
Robert
