Just got back home from delivering our 1980 B to its new owner in Dalton, GA. we drove from LR to Nashville yesterday on I-40 and after sitting for almost an hour parked on I-40 East of Memphis and another hour on I-75 outside of Chattanooga, TN we decided to make the return trip on US 72 across Alabama.
Imagine my surprise when I found us driving through Gurley,AL just outside of Huntsville.....I never even realized it until we were there today and I couldn't help but swallow a lump in my throat as I realized that this trip never would have taken place if not for the enormous help I received from Tony on this build. It was the hardest build we've ever undertaken and I'm sad the trip was too late to share with him.
We hate to see this little car go, but it has a great new owner. I did recommend that he look you guys up. Very nice people and I think they would fit in well here, so look for a new member from Chatsworth, GA. and be nice to him! He has a real nice little 1980 MGB that we hope will bring him as much fun as it did us.
(I will still drop by to see how you guys are doing!)
Drive safe!

You don't have to own a LBC, just love them to hang around here (ask Sherlock!)

And Steve... Who last I checked doesn't have one either since he sold his MGB awhile back... It's ultimately about the folks not the cars...

I haven't had a drivable LBC for over 3 years. I do have the TR2 but I haven't done a thing to it in quite a while. I just like checking in here and chatting with the folks I know.

Terri;

We all have lumps in our throats when we speak of Tony, but he would be the first to say, good sale , and don't stop coming here.
I, by the way, haven't had an LBC in over 3 years.

It "IS" the people!

Don't know about anyone else.
My computer is stuck on this site and I can't fix it.

Not a bad place to be stuck... there are lots of nice people here :grouphug:

Don;

That is "NOT" stuck, that is finally an intelligent machine.

Thanks guys, it's not like we don't have a garage full of projects (1990 Toyota supra in final stages of paint, 1986 Toyota MR2 that needs a complete going over, and I still have the Alfa that has been back burnered so I could finish up the B)

I hated to let that little guy go, especially since I didn't really get to drive it but a few times to school and on a couple of club outings, but we have really let ourselves get too many projects. We are hoping to clean out the list, sell a couple of more and then look into either a TR or Bugeye or another Midget or who knows.....

What's so funny about working on cars is that once people find out you can, they come out of the woodwork. In fact on Saturday we had someone offer us a 1998 Toyota Celica that is in pretty good shape, relatively low mileage for $300 and someone else offered us a 72 B that needs work for $500....we declined both but there was still the momentary...Hmmmmmm LOL!

You should have bought them, fixed 'em up and flipped them. Nothing like a hobby that supports itself.

Which is why I have 7 (yes count them 7) cars now...I can't seem to pass up a good deal. But the problem is...Husband has a new job and it is eating up his time right now, I am working this summer, old son has decided to stay at school so he's not home and young son is still in the "learning stages" and not comfortable working on the cars without some supervision. So, they sit....we squeeze an hour here and an hour there, but not nearly enough time to actually flip these cars and get them "in and out" The B took three years! LOL! Not much profit in that!

You only have 7 cars?You have to keep up with
the rest of us!Hope you'll stick around.

Geez!I back out for a few days and come home to find Terri sold the B... wow.

Sell those ferrin Toyo-thingies as-is, hunt up another B and have only TWO cars. :wink:

And don't you dare leave. Someone will hunt you down and drag you back. :smirk:

Holy Smokes Doc...I thought you had disappeared!

There are days when I think that those in our little electronic community who have shed their LBCs are the wise ones! :laugh:
