I need to bribe someone or knock someone off

Seems Beena may not be 'done' by MG2006.

Seems dahubby was talking with John yesterday. John has a 'rumpf in the shop now (think it's been taking awhile, he works on it as the guy gives him money) And another guy has a VERY nice B, but he's decided he wants it repainted (apparently the paint is great, but has a couple nicks). He wants John to make it a show car.

That puts Beena 3rd in line. So I either have to bribe John or knock off the guy with the B.

40 yr old single malt scotch, some cuban cigars, delivered by a well proportioned......wearing.....not much....... in no time you should be no.1 on the list.

Or...another body man?

Never! What little body work and the painting will only be done by John. I'd rather wait a year if I have to. The guy does phenomenal work.

I'll just work on John a bit Friday night and convince the B owner that he should step down. Either that, or I wait. I don't know what sort of time frame we're talking, once the car is at John's shop. I'll find out Friday night when I see him. How long you think we're talking? I mean, after it's painted, we have A LOT of work ahead of us!

Call my friend Guido - he works in the collection
department at Mafia Mutual Insurance Company.
Very persuasive,& speaks no English!

just go over there with a half dozen cotton balls in each cheek, and say "I'll make you an offer you can't refuse" (oh no another movie quote)

quickest way up the list?... throw money at your body guy. its amazing what that will do....

That's exactly what I told Chuck. I'm thinking a check for $4000 handed to him Friday evening might do the trick.

Y'know, I'm no genius.....that's obvious given that I'm a lawyer, but I'm thinkin' that you may not want to post your intent to have someone whacked in cyberspace for all the world to see.

law "aspiring mob lawyer" guy

Speaking of wanting somebody whacked - did anyone see the story about the model who wanted someone wacked over cheese? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

I just want to knock him off the list!!!

Stick with that story....and should you need it, one of my colleagues is a criminal defense lawyer....with New Jersey contacts, if you know what I mean.

JB, I know it is cold out, but I suggest you wear the shortess skirt you own on Friday!

Just my idea of how to capture his attention ;-)

Jaybird, from experience, NEVER prepay someone for work to be done, especially something technically and physically challenging like body and paint work. The artisan will quickly lose interest once the work is started and oft will shortchange the end result. The monies will already be spent by the time they start the job and some little fly in the back of their mind will convince them that they screwed themselves, probably undercharged you and will take shortcuts that they would never have done before, just to get the job done and recoup their "losses". It is a strange phenomenon of human nature but the carrot of money looming in the future will cause them to work better.

TR6BILL, How unfortunatly true. I've worked for people like that.Too bad. I really enjoyed LBCs as a living.(some of you will be able to piece that togeather)

The short skirt thing worked on me every time when I was in the business. Now at my age a box of barbeque, some baked beans and a six pack of Sharpes will do the same thing. Jack

Bill thanks for the concern!

First, John is a friend as well as a businessman, and probably the best body/paint man around. I have no qualms or reservations about paying him every dime ahead of time. Now I would never even consider doing that under different circumstances. With someone else or a stranger.

When it gets closer to time to put Binabox in his shop, we'll discuss how he'd like paid and how much at a time.

~sob~ It looks now, as if it may be mid-March or early April before he gets to me. And I shouldn't whine and complain, I would never want him to hurry up my car to get to another. (I just want him to hurry up another to get to mine!) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

John has a great reputation and far too much pride in his work to sluff off on any of his jobs.

~sniff~

Short skirt hey? Hmmm, maybe I have something to go with those new shoes...we're going to be with them on New Year's Eve. I could get him all likkered up and hey...NOPE. I'll just wait my turn.

And whine about it every chance I get.
