I miss Tony

The forum seems empty, or a bit soulless without him. I actually kind of forced myself to keep posting yesterday after I heard, I figured that Tony loved the cars so much that he'd want us to keep talking, enjoying, respecting them.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that all you guys aren't awesome or don't have any soul or a ton to share and teach. I think you know where I cam coming from. I never had the honor of meeting him, but I'm still kind of choked up typing this....

I think you are 100 percent correct! Tony would want us all to continue on and enjoy each day to the fullest. I feel like I lost my big brother.

It's still not registering well here.

But he'd for certain wish all to carry on.

I came here to post about something MG related but now that I've learned about Tony suddenly it doesn't seem so important anymore, in fact I can't even remember what it was. I'm definitely at a loss for words. Perhaps I'll come back in a few days to try to help uphold Tony's legacy here. Not now though.

I am blown away! I check in from time to time but I guess not enough. I was waiting on something from Tony and I was just logging in to look for a PM and I saw TDSKIP's thread. I am in shock right now. I cannot believe this and have no words to express this loss.

My sympathies to his wife, and family.

Vince

There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that Tony would want us all to keep enjoying this hobby and helping each other.

Not the same, tho', without him. :nonod:

OK, I thought I should come back and relay a nice story about Tony. I was in a quandary regarding the back brakes of my GT because I'd figured out that new wheel cylinders wouldn't fit because somebody had previously installed a roadster rear axle with roadster backplates. Upon learning this, Tony quickly offered up that he might have some backplates on one of his yard cars that he didn't need. The next day, he went out and removed them and sent them to me. He charged the absurdly low amount of $5 each plus shipping (which of course was much more than the $10 parts cost). What a guy. I'm happy to report that the backplates that Tony had wrenched with his own hands are now happily riding around (along with a bit of Tony karma) on my GT, which has transitioned into my daughter's daily driver.

PS I think I'm going to post this over on the Pub thread also.

Keep the stories coming.I'll bet Mickey has a few
really good ones.
I had to laugh at the picture of him eating that
large hambuger.Thanks Dale.
O the other hand,Tony was one of the few people
who got my sense of humor.I guess I'll have to pay one
of you to laugh at my jokes.

I liked the shot of him in the engine compartment of a midget.

I'll do it fer free... I need a laugh about now.

Having a bit of trouble thinking of things to post about right now. Everything else kind of feels - unimportant?- right now. It'll take a while before a lot of people are ready to begin the banter again. Things will be different from here on out.

I took the B out today...even put the top down. I mean after all, Tony is one of the main reasons it's on the road and not in the scrap yard. His help, patience and encouragement over the last two years cannot be measured.
I just imagine if all the people who he has helped revive, repair and maintain their Little British cars were to show up at his funeral the line of cars would stretch halfway across the state of Alabama!
Oh wouldn't that be a sight!

I fear they'd need to call out th' National Guard...
