I may be crazy but I'm not insane

You are not crazy but whoever paid over $57,000 for it might be.

Wow, paying over 50 k basically for a number plate, and I am sure a rusty one at that. Of course I think the 10K or more people pay for big healey and e-type projects in not much better shape is crazy money too.

I showed that one to my wife, hoping she'll think I'm less crazy with just the one little Bugeye...

How long you been married? Pretty sure she will be unconvinced - mine wasn't. Course that had nothing to with cars.

11 years. She does understand that this is important to me, so in that way she understands. It's certainly not anything she'd do by choice, but at least she knows me that well.

OK, that was a serious answer to a silly question. though sounds very much like your wife's attitude is similar to mine - it makes her happy that it makes me happy - even though it's not her thing. That said, I am astonished how much has rubbed off - mind you, that is both ways after almost 30 years.

Jay-That is a beaut.
Would look nice on a shelf in the family room

A friend of mine has a freshly rebuilt one of these on an engine stand in his garage, it is a thing of beauty but we keep telling him that it needs to go back in the car so we can go for a drive. I had no idea they were worth quite this much.

The "feeding frenzy" over early Porsches has been going on for a couple years now. Absolute madness, IMO. They're absolute TRUCKS, even compared to some of our English lumps.
