By that I mean "Other British Cars". I love it because there are SO MANY!
Toss that in with the ones that never got officially imported here and it gets interesting indeed.

OK, I want to talk about our Daimler Barker DB18 Special Sports. I wonder if there is another one in Canada? I think I just uploaded a picture?

There are a few things I would like to compare to another one, ie the back seat. The seat went missing during an import from Johannesburg to Toronto and as such I have never even seen what it should look like. I also want to see a radio that might be period for the car etc.

Stuff like that. Anyone?

Pretty sure it will be the only one on this forum - gorgeous though!

Whereabouts in Toronto are you? I am in Etobicoke.

BTW - welcome!

That is beautiful.

Looks like a cross between a Mercedes Nazi squad car and an Alpine
Cool

Lovely car! I'm sure you know that Basil used to own a similar car.

It's always interesting to consider how they got the name ("Daimler").

By-the-by, I used to live off Danforth Avenue in Toronto as a kid. I played in East Lynn Park
all the time.

As Nial mentioned, I used to own an SS. Great car, but decided I had too many other projects so I sold it. Here's a picture:

Hey JP Smit. I am at Bayview and Steeles area. We are in Etobicoke for a club meeting though at Islington and Dundas second Wednesday of every month.

Would be great to meet sometime. Lets plan for the spring? We have our first club run of the year in May, you are invited!

By the way, you Fiat? I love it already! Does it run, is it on the road, and did you bring it to a Monday night Cruise in our area a couple years back? A Multipla showed up and it was a "driver" for sure. Never saw it again but never forgot it.

Basil! Your SS is wonderful!
And oivay, I see I joined in May of 2010??? Shame on me! I took nearly 4 years to post, is that a record?
Anyway, I know that many more of these cars went to the USA than Canada. Hah, for what that was worth, LOL.

The Daimler Club of North America (DLOCNA) had their annual at the Toronto area (sort of) Bronte park British Car Day. A beautiful '67 V8 drove all the way from Virginia Beach VA to be there. According to them there is no other DB18 Barker in Canada that they know of.

Do you have any pictures of the interior? like a radio for example, and especially the rear seat.

Always a thrill to see another Barker.

Wait a minute, did I read that you owned a 1950 DB 18 SS coupe??
There aer supposedly only three of them ever made...as my Granny from Boston used to say,,,"Fan me with a brick" I am astonished. You are truly a Daimler man.

Which club then? I am in the BSCCoC. do they meet nearby here?

No the Fiat truly is barn art for a long time,

I drive this:

and am restoring this, before the Multipla:

Incidentally, I was at Bronte and saw the Daimler of which you speak - the one from Virginia. Here:

of course when I went to retrieve that picture, I found this:

Meaning of course we have met as I was the guy parking the cars and we chatted about your car. So, it is a small world after all.

No he is the second member. No one knows who member #1 was.

I thought Chuck Norris was the Stig.

If I'm not mistaken you've had this car for a long time, I think I remember it from my time spent in Ontario about ten years ago now, gorgeous car! I certainly don't think there is one of these in Alberta, wouldn't be surprised if there might be one in B.C. where tons of interesting British cars reside...

I'm sure I've photographed your car before, can't find the photo... Browsed my Flickr account, did find this example I saw at a B.C. show at Radium Hot Springs area...
