77midget is one of my old vehicles & I've got a problem with it that I could use some help with.
I replaced the trunk (boot) seal with one I got from VB & I can't get the lid to close all the way.
I coated it with Armor All & stacked cement blocks on the luggage rack.
That helped a little but not enough.
I could use some advise from you guys.

FYI: My other keepers are a 54 Chevy 3100 PU and a 85 Jag XJS that hasn't run for years.
If anybody has a problem with the temp gauge on a "driver" Midget, I think I can help.
 
I don't know the solution for a Midget, but I do know that is a very common complaint. The original seals were made with a hard outer skin and soft inner core; which apparently can not be duplicated by modern manufacturing methods.

I'm new at this so I don't know the protocol yet but I think a "Thanks" is in order for your reply.
I've read about 2 companies that may have a seal that works but no websites were given.
Ever heard of B&G-UK or MacGregor-CANADA?

I drove dad's TR2 up to the barn to park it when I was ~ 10 YO. No top so he kept it in the barn.
I had to look out the side 'cause I couldn't see over the dash.

I bought a set of seals for my Stag from MacGregor in Canada. At the time anyway, he was the only source for proper "Furflex" door seals for the Stag.
Very happy with what I got; and he was very upfront (I thought) about what he had and how good they were. But there were some seals that he didn't offer, for the exact reason I quoted above. His manufacturer couldn't make them.
