To try a local brew. If you can find it, try Abita Havest Wit ( brewed w/ Satsumas). Absolutly wonderful! See if they have some Abita Wheat too. You'll want to put some lemon slices in that. Both of which are truly a refreshing summer treats. At one time, Abita was the #1 micro brewery in the country. They might still be....not to mention the Abita Brew Pub is home to the Northshore chaper of BMCNO.

Love Abita beer. Amber, Turbo Dog, Purple Haze. Great stuff!

Oh, GREAT!! Now I gotta go BEG my local "supplier" to find that stuff.

BTW: These guys ROCK!!!

Purple Haze my unofficial beer for this summer. Great after hot work in the yard. Really refreshing.

Got some in the fridge right now . . .

Hmmm.. have not seen it around here, but I'll have to look. I always like trying a new micro-brew.
Just found Labatts 50 ale at a local beverage center. Not bad for a mainstream.

My favorite is Shiner Bock but you can't get it anywhere around here :wall:
It comes out of Shiner, TX and the only places I've had it were in Texas.
Good Beer!

My wife's nephew (you notice he's not my nephew!) was graduated from some California college with a degree in BEER. I kid you not. Only in California. His goal is to open his own microbrewery down the road. Prolly make a fortune, down the road. What-ever.

If some of the colleges I know of offered a degree in beer, the dropout rate would plummit. That's all a lot of college students study anyhow......
I wonder if he minored in girls?

Billy,

Are we talking FREE beer here?I don't think that you could
afford that.
The last time I saw that offer was at MG 2011 in Reno.

Hey, Bill, don't frown: The Wall St. Journal recently did an article on the microbrewing biz and said it was a good growth industry! The kid knows what he's doin'!

A local example here, a local brew pub's brewmaster went out on his own to create his own brewery a few years ago, he's now getting rich! His beer is selling all up and down the east coast, and now Budweiser (AmBev) is distributing his stuff. Saw him driving a Porsche recently . . .

Your nephew apparently has a bright future! :yesnod:
