I finally found my side curtains..

I have had my hardtop for 20 years but have never found the right curtains. It uses the larger frames that are angled to match the B pillar of the top. I think this top looks better on the MKII than the rounded shaped tops. They need a lot of work, but they fit. I'm not sure what I am going to do about the seals. Possibly splice some sections from two sets of regular seals. Since the bottom is the same length, I can use the regular piece there. I have thought about putting the seal on the top itself since it fits pretty close to the frame and has a lip around it. Does anybody else have these curtains on there MKI? The internet sure is great when you need something rare. I know you guys like to see pictures so here they are.

Replacement seals are a big loop that goes all the way around.

Fine fine looking little ride you have there.

I love the look of the early square cars without bumpers. Nice looking.

Pretty - I'm curious though about the stripes on the top but not the body?

Steve, you might consider giving MacGregor a call. Discuss what you've got, he may have the solution. He furnished ALL the rubber for my MGB factory HT, and they FIT properly.

You just need to send that old hardtop down here for me to diaspose of for you! hehehe

These curtains are much bigger than the stock ones, so the original seals will not fit around the loop. I'll check out the link. I'm just trying to get it together possibly for the trip to the 50th celebration in PA this May. It will tow better with the hardtop in place and possibly stay dry. I went in 1988 and had to practically bail water out of it after towing in the rain for 6 hours. {thought the tonneau would be better than the top..wrong} JP asked about the stripes. When I first built the car in '85, I painted the Cobra stripes on it. Later I decided it did not have enough bite to even wear the stripes of a Cobra, so I repainted the bonnet, boot, etc. The pictures below are from the early years. It had a BE bonnet when I drug it home.

Clean lines that top looks great on the car. Hardtop on that year with the bumpers gone looks so nice great color too.

Looks to be in really nice condition too. I might be tempted to get a spare. Too bad it's not a set. I don't think these were used on any Bugeye tops wre they?
